As any health expert will tell you, sitting is the enemy. For most of us, though, it’s unavoidable—unless you’re ready to fully commit to a standing desk. But the right chair can at least help to make your day more comfortable, and potentially prevent some of the back or neck pain that your old chair could be making worse.
Traveling in luxury and style isn’t just about money, says Charles MacPherson, who appears on Canadian TV and radio as “Charles the Butler.”

Dude, that is not what “vampire loss” means. If you’re going to post FUD, then at least make some attempt for it not to be pure nonsense!
“WOW! Just WOW!! I’m seriously impressed with this chair, so far. I’m six feet and 250 pounds, I spend 40-plus hours a week at my desk in a chair. I’ve had some good chairs that I’ve paid a lot of money for, and I’ve had some poor chairs I’ve paid a lot of money for, too. This is the first really good chair I didn’t have to pay a lot of money for. The engineering in this chair is first-rate. Putting it together, it’s obvious that it is meant to withstand some punishment. The metal hardware is significantly beefier than my last chair … The seat padding is very firm; of course, it’s meant to withstand a hundred pounds more than I’m putting on it, so I guess that’s understandable. It’s not so firm that it’s uncomfortable, but compared to my last chair, it’s very noticeably more firm. The armrests are well-padded and larger than my last chair … I’m seriously impressed and happy with this chair.”

After a long writing and recording period, 2016 saw the long-awaited release of latest full-length Under Summer. The album – at once subtle and joyous, hitting huge emotional peaks around moments of serene gentleness and heartbreaking sadness – was favourably reviewed by Pitchfork, FACT, DIY and countless more. It exhibits new scope and wider interests, full of closely-crafted arra… (read more)

INDIA: MATRI BHUMI (1959, 95 min, 35mm, b&w. In Italian with English subtitles. Archival print courtesy of Istituto Luce Cinecittà.) "A sublime symbiosis of fable and nonfiction, INDIA: MATRI BHUMI simply and poetically interrelates humans and animals, city and village, and society and nature over four separate stories. This visionary work is especially striking in the way its objective and subjective narrators merge into one another, reflecting not only the idea of reincarnation, but also the greater unity to which all of them belong." –Jonathan Rosenbaum, CHICAGO READER & INTERVIEW WITH SALVADOR ALLENDE / INTERVISTA CON SALVADOR ALLENDE: LA FORZA E LA RAGIONE (1971, 36 min, 35mm, b&w. Directed in collaboration with Emidio Greco. In Italian with English subtitles. Archival print courtesy of Istituto Luce Cinecittà.) Though recorded in 1971, this conversation between Rossellini and Chilean President Salvador Allende first aired on the Italian national network RAI 3 on September 15, 1973, just four days after his death during the right wing coup that ousted him.
"We use lots of polyester and chenille blends for sofas where large families put them to the test," she says. "Generally, synthetics endure hardship better than natural fabrics, which don’t hold up as well."
Inside a Redwood tree off the coast of California; within a tunnel by Snoqualmie Pass; on an airstrip in Marble, Colorado; in a wild daisy field near Crested Butte—these are just a few of the places Los Angeles trio, Magic Giant, recorded its debut album, aptly titled, In the Wind (Washington Square/Razor & Tie). Austin Bisnow (lead vocals), Zambricki Li (banjo, violin, harmonica), and Zang (acoustic guitar, cello) welcomed nature into the fold as their unofficial fourth member. "It was fate," recalls Zambricki. "We were scheduled to play all these festivals—Electric Forest, Wanderlust, Lightning in a Bottle—that just so happened to be in really beautiful parts of the country." During Spring 2016, the boys bought a shuttle bus, converted it into a solar-powered mobile recording studio, added a California King on hydraulics, and fondly named her Queen Elizabeth. "There were spaces of time between shows where we could get creative," explains Zang. "Using the bus to power microphones, we recorded outside—literally In The Wind—across North America." "Living in the city, it’s easy to forget how enchanting the road can be," Zang adds. "We recorded anywhere and everywhere. There wer… (read more)
